■A professional singer and performer since the age of 16, Denita knows her craft well and is equally versed in jazz, pop, rock and rhythm & blues. She began to emulate her favorite singers honing her skills as Aretha Franklin in the 1960’s Musical Production of BEEHIVE.
■Audiences showed their appreciation by telling Denita that she had a striking resemblance to a young Aretha Franklin. From this experience, Denita began her tribute to the superstar. Today, Denita performs throughout the U.S and internationally as the Soulful Detroit diva. With the resurgence of Soul Music, Denita is busier than ever and continues to delight her fans worldwide.

56 years ago – Muscle Shoals music changed forever, when a 24 year old Aretha Franklin walked into FAME Recording Studio. That first day Aretha sang the opening lyrics to her first hit single “You’re a no good heartbreaker / You’re a liar and you’re a cheat”, from the hit I never Loved aMan the Way I Love You. Aretha became the greatest soul singer of a generation with help from Swampers, Jimmy Johnson, Roger Hawkins, and David Hood along with Spooner Oldham. January 9th, 1967 – the day Aretha found her soul!
